Blackburn

Project Overview

This stylish and minimalist garden in Blackburn was designed by Robert Hughes and constructed in 2022, and features two separate paved areas which create two distinct zones – one for dining and one for relaxing.

These zones feature a fire table and lounge furniture respectively, and are separated by a central rill water feature which serves as a focal point from the kitchen inside the property. The rill has an elegant hand-made pot which appears to float just above the surface of the water.

We created a raised lawn to give space for the children to play, along with a separate discreet play area.

The garden is framed with preached trees to give instant screening from neighbouring properties and to provide a dramatic backdrop – under planted with hydrangeas which add drama to the garden when in flower.

An bin storage area was created to house and hide the bins, which balances practicality and aesthetics.

This garden also incorporates a bespoke lighting system so that the space can be enjoyed into the evening and beyond.
